An undisputed masterpiece by Kenny Wheeler, the Canadian trumpeter. Written for big band, voice and flugelhorn, in 8 parts, the work is surprising in its variety of colors.

This suite, which oscillates between light and darkness, is punctuated by solos for flugelhorn, voice, sax, trombone and bass, all of which express themselves with a flavor that is at times gentle, swinging or free, punctuated by poignant chords, a graceful piano solo or a brief quotation from Gershwin's Fascinating Rhythm.
5 trumpets, 5 trombones, 2 pianos, guitar, double bass, 2 drums.
