BPM or Beats Per Minute: a unit of measurement expressing the tempo of a piece... and the acronym chosen as the title of POC's juggling concert. No wonder, since rhythm is omnipresent, organic, intense and intoxicating!
A blend of body percussion and bouncy juggling, where the ball's trajectory integrates rhythmic and musical composition, BPM is indeed a spectacular OMNI - Objet Musical Non Identifié - where everything is sound: two body-percussionists straight out of a cartoon twirl to the complex rhythms of the balls pounding the floor, quickly joined by a multi-instrumentalist musician in a generous, skilfully orchestrated and choreographed frenzy.
Constantly surprising, defying the laws of gravity, spicing up their performance with magic and humor, the members of this crazy, likeable trio transform their bodies into musical instruments, their ground strokes into notes, their vibrations into electro or funk rhythms, their trajectories into drum rolls, and their falls into silences...
