A Bresse farm with a Saracen chimney that produces and processes Bresse peppers and nettles. This is where Bressico is produced!
Ferme du Tiret was taken over in 2021 after 10 years of vacancy. Partly listed as a historic monument for its Saracen chimney (depicted on the village coat of arms) and remarkable for its bread oven building surrounded by pig pens with stone base (rare in Bresse), this heritage is being restored thanks to the development of new activities that are giving a new lease of life to this sleepy estate.
* The farm works with original plants such as nettle (grown on the farm) and bear's garlic (collected in the Revermont, in the foothills of the Jura, opposite the farm). Pestos, flavored salt, pasta - there's something for everyone. The luffa squash provides shade for the plantations in summer, and natural, exfoliating shower flowers in autumn!
* The Piment de Bresse is an ancient vegetable that had almost disappeared from its native territory, which gave it its name. Saved by a few private individuals and the actions of the Musée du Revermont, it has now risen from the ashes. La Ferme is one of the producers who are reviving this production in Bresse. It's here that Bressico (a hot Bresse pepper sauce) is produced.
La ferme du Tiret is a real link between heritage and innovation, between local and international territorial roots, to carry the Bresse identity into the 21st century!
