This talk aims to demystify the concept of artificial intelligence (AI) and explore its many facets in a way that is accessible to a wide audience. The presentation will begin with an introduction to the fundamentals of AI, explaining its origins, basic principles and the key technologies underpinning it, such as machine learning, reasoning mechanisms and distributed artificial intelligence.
During the conference, concrete examples of AI applications in everyday life and the socio-economic environment will be presented, illustrating the potential for improvement in sectors such as healthcare, transport, education and public services.
Particular emphasis is placed on clarifying common misconceptions and fears associated with AI. Ethical issues and challenges relating to privacy and security will be addressed, while highlighting the measures and regulations in place to frame its development and use responsibly.
