On Saturday, September 19, and Sunday, September 20, each venue will highlight a traditional Bresse craft through themed activities organized by local professionals or organizations.
On the program: - Forest Farm Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Both days • Guided tours • Information session and workshop on the Bresse bocage • Exhibition of old photos and postcards • Presentation of Vincuit and tasting of gaudes by the Avenir et Traditions en Bresse association Sunday from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM • Demonstrations of traditional crafts • Tasting of Bresse-style waffles hosted by the “Patois, Traditions et Métiers d’Autrefois” association - Sougey Farm Saturday from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM Sunday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM • Guided tours of the farm and its buildings (45 minutes). • A look back at the region’s winemaking history, including a presentation of the grape vat and the cider press. • Exhibition on the Battle of Montrevel by the New Jersey Cavalry association. • Refreshment stand with drinks and crêpes; sale of jams made with fruit from Le Sougey. - Maison de Pays en Bresse Ecomuseum Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM Both days • Demonstrations of traditional crafts • Temporary exhibition “Bresse Headdresses and Hats” • Introduction to the Bresse dialect through fun games On Saturday • “What Threats Face My Bresse Farm?”: an educational workshop for children ages 6 and up at 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. (duration: 1 hour). Reservations recommended. Reduced rates: €4 / €2 / €1.50. Free for children under 7. - Montalibord Farm Both days • Guided tours at 10 a.m., 2 p.m., and 4 p.m., focusing on the oven, the lime kiln, and the pond mill Saturday • “2 copains d’abord” concert at 6:00 p.m.: Jean-Yves and Albert revisit French chanson classics. (Pay-what-you-can) Cocktail hour with your own specialties to share (savory, sweet, drinks). Sunday • Demonstration of traditional grain milling • Tour of the ruins of the Montalibord Mill - Grandval Farm Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Both days • The “heated” house with its Saracen fireplace will be open. • Outside: demonstration of husking, tying, and making “corn grapes.” Sunday • Starting at 12:30 p.m.: sale of local goat cheeses.
