Hiking, Marboz and the royal road

Departing from the village of Marboz, this hiking loop invites you to discover the richness of the Bresse landscape, with its unspoilt nature and discreet heritage. The route winds through a mosaic of woods and pastures, linking the scattered hamlets that make up the area's charm. Before long, the path opens out onto the Teppes lake, a peaceful space where you can take your first break along the water. The walk then continues through the Malaval woods, offering a shady, refreshing atmosphere, before skirting the Montsouge estate, a witness to local history. Further on, the route takes in the Marmont woods, then the Haies and Pierrets woods, alternating between forest passages and open views of the surrounding countryside. At a bend in the path, the modest but historic Couhardes chapel appears, a reminder of the ancient roots of these rural lands.
