This hike begins in the heart of the village of Rignat, a privileged gateway to the Revermont vineyards. The route gradually rises through the hills, immersing you in this piedmont landscape, sublimated by the views from the Croix de la Dent.
Key stages of the trail
The trail rises to overlook the Gravelles vineyards. This balcony-like passage allows you to observe the singular topography of the area, where rows of vines line up on well-exposed limestone slopes.
The final objective is the Croix de la Dent, a strategic high point. From here, hikers enjoy a 360° panoramic view of the entire region:
The Gorges de l'Ain and the Suran valley below.
The massive ridges of the Bugey.
In the background, the Alps, visible on a clear day.
Heritage and Terroir
In addition to its scenic interest, this tour also highlights the wine industry. Passing close to the vineyards gives you the opportunity to stop off at one of the local winegrowers'. These encounters allow you to discover the specific characteristics of the Revermont grape varieties and to understand the close link between the geology of the massif and the production of wines of character.
This is a well-balanced itinerary, combining moderate physical effort, geographical observation and discovery of the region's agricultural heritage.
