    At the beginning of the 19th century, the hamlet of Montpréval was the most important in the Bourg. It counted 85 inhabitants distributed in 15 small farms all grouped around the important farm of Montpréval which remains today. All the families worked for the owner. The cadastral plan of 1830 shows the existence of a chapel, a monastery and a cemetery. Legend has it that an underground passage went down to the Vieux Jonc and linked the estate to the forest.
