Description
Join us for a lecture at the Royal Monastery of Brou dedicated to Jean Hey, long known as the Master of Moulins.
Jean Hey, also known as the Master of Moulins, was one of the greatest painters of the late 15th and early 16th centuries. Of Flemish origin, he worked successively at the court of Charles de Bourbon and then at that of Pierre II de Bourbon. His style, which drew inspiration notably from the paintings of Hugo van der Goes, evolved to suit his French patrons, thereby contributing to the development of religious and portrait painting during his time.
