Description
At a lecture at the Royal Monastery of Brou, discover the incredible restoration of the Moulins Triptych, a true Renaissance masterpiece!
A remarkable work of French Renaissance art, the Moulins Triptych underwent an exceptional restoration between 2022 and 2025. To carry out this state-funded project, the DRAC Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes drew on the expertise of the Center for Research and Restoration of the Museums of France (C2RMF), where the work was restored. This large-scale project, carried out by teams from the C2RMF, restorers, the Arcanes workshop, and the Tournillon consortium, shed light on the creative process behind Jean Hey’s work and restored the composition’s original richness. This lecture traces the multidisciplinary and collaborative journey of the restoration campaign, which restored the triptych to its former glory and opened a new chapter in the understanding and appreciation of Jean Hey’s masterpiece.
The lecture is followed by a guided tour of the work in situ.
