MTB route no. 3 (blue) - Medieval Treffort

From the forest to the plain, on the first slopes of Revermont, a scenic and historical stroll at the foot of the Jura chain. Base VTT Espace Revermont - FFCT signposting - n°3 - blue The start of the circuit is shared with FFCT n°1 "Tour du plan d'eau", just before the D3B turn right and pass the Etang des Pilles. Etang des Pilles: private lake, day fishing pass for sale - Picnic area After the pond, leave the D3B and head for Treffort, an ancient fortified village whose remains are still very much in evidence. Perched on its hilltop, it has a proud appearance with its castle. In the Middle Ages, before the territory became part of the kingdom of France, the town was fortified with at least six gates and over thirty towers. Vines have also left their mark on this village, and numerous cellars run beneath the streets and houses of the "cavets". Take advantage of your visit to discover the local Comté. You'll pass by the 14th-century Halles and the church. Stroll through this village and you'll discover fountains, cobbled and grassy streets, traboules and beautiful facades.
